Barrie Gun Club Annual Ladies Day is held in October with proceeds going to The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Ladies with & without experience have a chance to participate in skeet, rifle, pistol & cowboy action shooting while supervised by one of the safety team members.
Raffle ticket sales were offered from numerous donations & gift baskets from beauty shops, restaurants, gun stores, etc. There is a BBQ is available for a nominal donation along with T-shirts sales, special “ladies” style targets.
In 2012 we had 50 ladies participate raising $1500 and in 2013 we had 300 ladies participate raising $5200. 2014 We had over 350 ladies attend.
I’m please to announce another successful ladies day shooting down breast cancer fundraiser.
I’ve never heard so much laughter & cheering and seeing huge smiles and grins ear to ear as ladies tried shooting, most for the first time ever was the best!
Im proud to announce we had corporate sponsorship from Winchester, CSSA, glock, cabelas, Elwood epps, NFA, rouge river arms and many many donations from local restaurants, salons and generous donations from club members and non club members.
All the ladies we’re thrilled to win the beautiful gift baskets and Mary from innisfil won the grand prize and was filled with joy as she came up to collect it.
Some feedback posted on social media were: “great time, great instructors!!”, “Had an excellent time will be back next year”. “Awesome event can’t wait till next year”
To date we’ve raised $6,566 yippee
Donations can still be made up to 30 days after event
First year we raised $1500, second year $5235. Grand total over 3 years donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation $13,301
Thanks to the Barrie Examiner, the Barrie Advance, Rogers TV and Snap Barrie for media coverage.
